Wessex Community Assets is a member of the Wessex Reinvestment Trust Group. WCA is an Industrial and Provident Society which introduces investment for the development of community assets and provides services for its sister organisations:
� Wessex Reinvestment Society is an Industrial and Provident Society (IPS) which provides business loans to small and social enterprises.
� Wessex Reinvestment Trust Core Company (WRTCC) is a Company limited by Guarantee which provides home improvement loans in partnership with 11 local authorities.
� Wessex Reinvestment Trust is a charitable company which initiates educational and research and development projects.
Place of work: this post is to be home based, with occasional attendance at the Wessex group office in Wellington.
Overall Job Purpose
To provide administrative and research support for the community investment programme being run by WCA:
1. Receive initial enquiries about WCA and its community investment programme
2. Distribute information promoting WCA services
3. Organise and manage a series of seminars/workshops on community investment in the South West region
4. Undertake and analyse market research undertaken for community investment projects
5. Produce illustrated written reports for community investment projects for clients and
6. Maintain register of contacts for community investment work
7. Undertake process of registration with FSA for organisations using WCA model rules
8. Manage time banking network for Tudor trust funded community investment learning exchange
9. Conduct occasional research into community investment topics as instructed by the Executive Director
10. Update information for the WCA website
11. Undertake any other reasonable function commensurate with the post as instructed by the Executive Director
Essential Qualifications
Good general education
Desirable Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in related area � e.g. community development, business management
Essential Experience
1. Producing reports.
2. Undertaking basic research.
3. Use of mainstream IT programmes � Word, Excel, Access.
Desirable Experience
1. Managing events.
2. Managing networks.
3. Undertaking market research.
4. Use of Publisher or equivalent IT programme
Personal Attributes:
1. Ability to work as part of a small team
2. Flexibility and adaptability in undertaking mix of tasks
