News from SW: Creative Learning Agency seeks new shadow Board Members and Chair to drive the organisation forward
Creative Learning Agency (CLA), the arts education agency covering the West of England, is entering an exciting time in its development which will see it establish as an independent company, generate new income streams and work more strategically across the south west region.
Creative Learning Agency is a service supported by the four West of England local authorities and Arts Council England, South West and hosted by Bath & North East Somerset Council. Its present steering group comprises of representatives of the four local authorities and an Arts Council England officer.
Creative Learning Agency's ambition is to set up as an independent company during the coming year. They need people who share their ambitions and are passionate about creative learning and the value of the arts on young people�s development and who have the skills and experience to be Directors of the new company and to drive its future development forward.
The position of Chair will play a fundamental role in providing leadership and support for the Manager and agency staff, therefore CLA are looking for an individual who understands the context within which we work and who believes strongly in the important role creative learning plays in education and young people�s development. Furthermore, CLA are looking for a Chair with the commitment and drive needed to work closely with us to ensure the agency�s growth and development.
Applications would be especially welcome from individuals with the following skills, experience and knowledge:
� Website development
� Business development
� Legal frameworks
� IT development
� Marketing
� Business management
� Financial management
Creative Learning Agency is presently a website based organisation providing information, advice, support and guidance for artists and educators across the West of England (Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire). Creative Learning Agency advocates for creativity and learning and also runs a number of supporting projects including Artsmark Award support, training for artists, conferences, seminars and one to one funding advice surgeries. CLA forms part of a network of ten arts education partnership organisations covering the whole south west region.
The positions of Chair and Board membership are voluntary unpaid appointments that will enable those involved to play a significant role in enhancing the creative and arts learning experiences of young people in the area.
