Other news: Sustainable Woodland scheme gets under way
The recently launched Sustainable Woodland scheme is already attracting interest from the forestry sector and the Silvanus Trust, which has been commissioned to run the scheme, is giving advice to businesses interested in submitting proposals.
Under the scheme, funding will be available for:

Harvesting and primary processing of wood-based fuels
Recreation and other non-forestry use, for instance feasibility studies for in-forest recreational activities or associated activities such as cafes or bike hire.
The Silvanus Trust is in the process of appointing two technical advisers to help would-be applicants with their proposals.
