New Third Sector Action plan
The government has announced the launch of 'Real Help for Communities: Volunteers, Charities and Social Enterprises' - an action plan outlining �42.5 million support for the third sector in the difficult economic climate.

As the recession bites and funding from sources such as banks gets harder to access, the importance of alternative providers of finance is likely to grow. Whole School Meals in east Kent is one example of a social enterprise which, thanks to a �90,000 loan from TSELF, is now thriving.

Se2partnership is established in the South East as a partnership of organisations and networks who exist to support the development of social enterprise. The Partnership is co-ordinating a regional social enterprise programme funded by Capacity Builders - a 'non-departmental public body' set up to build the capacity of the Third Sector.
